Tony Worral

The Bradford Branch of CAMRA hold their annual festival this weekend. They have honoured former Bingley College student Tony Worrall by offering a beer named after the legendary Ferrand Arms' drinker and PE teacher. The following is taken from the Yorkshire Post today: 'Nearly all the tickets have sold out for this year's Bradford Beer Festival at Saltaire which starts tonight and lasts for three days. Organiser Mick Farrar said: "We will be serving more than 100 beers including a blackbery one, a chocolate one, an orange one and one called Hannibal Nectar.

"There will also be a beer brewed specially in honour of longstanding member Tony Worrall who sadly died last year. It's called Worrall's BFB and is being brewed by Salamander Brewery.''

Taken from Bradford CAMRA website : It is with great sadness that the branch announce the tragic passing of Tony Worrall.

On the evening of Friday 30th November 2007 Tony after an evening with branch friends suffered a heart attack. He was taken to hospital but sadly did not recover. He will be missed enormously by his friends within the branch but more so of course by his wife Joy, immediate family and close friends.

Most visitors to the Bradford Beer Festival over recent years and many to Keighley will have met Tony - if only briefly. He was more often than not responsible for admissions and the first person you would meet. Future festivals will not be the same without him for any of us.
