Sadly the Clock Project has been abandoned for the time being as the Lottery Bid failed due to the clock being privately owned. The Friends of Bingley College have had to withdraw their funding in line with the Lottery ruling. Friends of Bingley College are committed to raising money for charitable and needy causes such as the Bingley Youth Cafe.
Many thanks to Andy who lives in the main building, now known as The Mansion, for the above photos of the remains of the clock.
After the college was closed the remains of the clock were removed by people unknown. There is a rumour that Bradford Council took the innards to be used for spares on Bradford Town Hall.

Above is the four way bevel which would have driven the four sets of hands on the four faces. Click here to see also the amazing panoramic view from the clock. Thanks to Andy for the photo.
As you can see above it is a classic JB Joyce clock and is in a sad state of repair. It is hoped that it can be restored but this will probably cost in the region of £8000. Hopefully a way forward will be found soon to get the clock going again.
Click here to see the history of JB Joyce clockmakers of Whitchurch interpreted by Wikipedia. JB Joyce also made the famous clock on Eastgate in Chester which is perched on a bridge. Truly remarkable stuff. For Bingley College, only the best.
