Happy New Year
I hope everyone has had a pleasant festive season.
Thanks to the Bookseller and other friends for informing me of the sad loss of Tony Worrall. I never knew Tony but was obviously loved by many. If any of his family or friends would like to do some words or pictures for the website, it would be more than welcome.
It's going to be a special year as people prepare for the Centenary. Thanks for your continuing support. Plans will be circulated soon.
Love to you all : Ted / John
Pyjamas at Fernbank Drive.
Thanks to Angela Stringer nee Crawshaw for these pics of students in their nightwear. She says:- "These pictures always make me smile and remember those days with fondness. We had to have tons of bedding because duvets hadn't been invented. It was horror of horrors nylon sheets ugh followed by very hairy blankets, an eiderdown and lastly a candlewick bedspread and do you know what? We were still cold!!! Plus I have my nylon lavender dressing gown on and Gwen is modelling a nylon nightie. This is 26A Fernbank Drive 1975/6. There was no heating upstairs in that flat."?

Doesn't Acland look great with its new roof slates? I'm hoping to get a consignment of 500 of the original slates from the builders so if you'd like a piece of the old place then it will probably cost around a fiver plus P&P. I'll keep you informed. Many thanks once again to David Stuttard for the lovely photos.

Many thanks to Dot and Neil Key. Neil explains:- "We found this photo from rag week 1977, Crusoe and Friday. The dog, seen in the background, followed Bernie round all day as he had 'blacked up' with gravy browning". Keep the photos coming in.

BELOW : Thanks to Alan Brett for sending this photo of Bingley College Soccer Team in 1966. Baz Wood remembers:- Back row, 2nd from right is John Shaw. He is also on my gallery photo of Bingley Town team photo [72-73]. Excellent soccer player. An influential team captain. Taught in Shipley. Married a French girl. Cheers, Baz.  [Singapore].

Info from the Bookseller:- I believe the late Tony Worrall would be the blonde chap with the dark shirt in the middle of the second row. Incidentally, throughout much of his time at Bingley College he worked as a jocular bar man at the old Ferrands pub for his much needed beer money and frequent pin ball machine expenses.
