Sport
Throughout the years Bingley students and staff enjoyed many sporting activities. Here are a few to savour. More contributions welcome.

Above 1976 : Bingley sportsmen were renowned for their cheeriness. Steve Smith and Pete Wozencroft celebrate their Bar Seven victory after scoring the most points and consuming many pints of beery mud. Thanks to Pete for the photo.
The Bar Seven a Side rugby challenge competition in full swing. From LtoR:- Steve Bigbeerbelly, Steve Ward, Steve Smith, Dave Barton, Steve Backoheed, Pete Wozencroft, Nigel Bennet. Spectators watched on hoping for a try to be scored. When a try was scored both teams had to run to the touch line and drink a pint of fine beer. Games were divided into two halves of 8mins and no clean glasses were allowed.

Photo above taken early on in the 71/72 season. Alex Barnett  was on Arsenal's books as a schoolboy. Mad on Johnny Cash and Lonnie Donegan. Always ironed his jeans! Geoff Wilson was a very stylish right back, a fellow Lancastrian like me and a former Lancashire schools footballer. We were though more of a Rugby club in disguise with huge after match piss-ups and sing songs. It is with much shame that I can recall every line of Cleasby's rendition of "Bumlebee". We didn't do PC in those days!
We are wearing new kit in the photo purchased in Leeds the  week previously. What happened to it? It is as far as I Know the only photo taken during my 3 years in the team. The 2 bottom right together with John Luffman were freshers at the time of the photo and went on to form the backbone of the side in later years. Garth Wilson the regular centre half was not present for reasons that I don't recall. Any reminisces appreciated ! Nigel
